Ikariam "Favorite" Targets + Attack Counter

I have just been given the "okay" from marko_tmc for the (approved) use of this tool.

It is a greasemonkey script I wrote and will continue to makes improvements/bug fixes to it. If you are new to Greasemonkey and need help getting it setup, there is a good install document written at http://ikariamlibrary.com/?content=Greasemonkey%20Scripts

Key features

Ability to save "favorite" targets from any page containing a city link (Military Movements, Combat Reports, Town Mayor, Spyhut, etc). Currently, you CANNOT add a "favorite" from island views. This has given me a few headaches already but I will continue to work on implementing it.
The "favorites scratchpad" (as I call it) will only be displayed in military views (movements, reports, etc).
Once a target is added, removal is available, via the "scratchpad" by the red "X". All saved data for that target will be removed at this point.
A pillage counter: Once a favorite is saved, navigating to individual combat reports will start to be added to the counter. This includes both land/sea battles, and does not count towards the total, if all units are lost (per the official rules for bashing).
Goods pillaged: As long as the combat report has been updated to include goods pillage (following the 30m pillage time), this info will also be saved, and can be viewed by hovering over the pillage count on the scratch pad.
Bashing Timer: A 24-hour countdown is also shown while hovering over the pillage counter, to display the time until that attack will leave the "bashing" 24-hour window.

Follow the instructions at http://ikariamlibrary.com/?content=Greasemonkey%20Scripts
Once GreaseMonkey is installed, simply extract the script above (using WinZip or equivalent) and drag the file into FireFox.

Do not double click the file. Simply drag and drop it in FF window....

I have strackted the file and i have moved to mozilla firefox folder, but it's no working. what i am missing?

moving it to the firefox folder is possible, but you have to put it in a special folder.

in vista, it should be here: C:\Users\Your Profile Name\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Your Firefox Profile Name\gm_scripts\

in xp : C:\Documents and Settings\Your Profile Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\Your Firefox Profile\gm_scripts\ (i dont have xp, so it might not be 100% correct)

the easy way to install it is: extract the file to the desktop, then drag and drop the file into firefox. if you have greasemonkey installed (its required to use this, and most other scripts) it will present you with a little box asking if you want to install it.
when you press yes/install you should then see a message appear in the status bar (bit at the bottom) saying the script was installed successfully

Thank you, i thought it will work, really...

i have Xp i extrackted the file to the desktop and i moved to:
\Documents and Settings\Your Profile Name\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\profiles\gm_scripts.

i can see all my others scripts there, but still no working.
if i dobleclick it it sais:
error: 'document' is underfined
code: 800A1391
Source: Microdoft JScript runtime error

Now what?

i even created a folder and moved the sript inside the fonder as all the other scripts seen to be inside a folder, still no working. and if i doble click any of the other scripts than work still give a error message, then this is no the problem. i am lost..........

If you Double-Click the file in windows Explorer (or any windows file browser) it will not work. This is true for most, if not ALL, userscripts and this is fine. they are not designed to be used like that.

Moving scripts in/out of the folder is a bad idea. (seeing as it dosent work for you)

Use the Drag+Drop method. Extract the file from the zip and place the user.js file onto the desktop.

Open a new firefox window, size it so you can see said file on the desktop.

Drag the file from the desktop into the middle of the firefox window.

If a window pops up asking you to install, click "install".

if a window does not popup, then check that Greasemonkey is a)Installed b)up-to date c)not disabled in firefox's add-ins dialog.

To install the script for a zip file on your local machine:

Download the zip file.
Go to windows explorer and extract the script file from the zip file (keep the windows explorer folder open).
Open FireFox
Make sure you have greasemonkey installed (if you do not then go to https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748 and download it).
Make sure you can see both FireFox and Windows Explorer at the same time.
Click on the extracted script file in Windows Explorer and drag it into the main window of FireFox.
A window will pop up asking if you want to "Install", "View Source" or "Cancel" - click Install and the script will be installed.
Close the Windows Explorer window (if you want to, now you can delete the zip file and extracted script file as Greasemonkey will have made a copy of it).
Play Ikariam and the script will run automatically.

If you need to uninstall a script:

Right Click on the monkey in the bottom right of the FireFox window.
Click "Manage User Scripts"
Click on the name of the script you want to uninstall.
Click Uninstall.

If you find a problem with the guide above then please post where you had problems and what steps you got up to and I will try and idiot proof the guide.

Alternatively you could ask the OP to move the script to host the file so it is not in a zip file or if bandwidth is a problem the to use a different host (such as userscripts.org ).

ok, start looking for an idiot proof the guy, because i have a problem, here it goes:

1-i downloaded the zip file
2- i went to windows explorer and extraxted the file withWinRAR the file is then inside WinRAR window (could this be the problem?)
4- i have greasemonkey installed
5-i can see this file and the firefox window ( C

doc & settings\username\application data\Mozilla\firefox) on PowerDesk Pro 6
6- i click on the extracted file from the WinRAR window and droped inside the firefox window on power desk
7-no window pops up! :wth:
