Town Enhancer

Town Enhancer at ikariamlibrary.com is a script that adds labels to buildings in your towns which can show the buildings name, its current level and if you have the resources in town to upgrade it (a hammer is shown on the label). If the requirements for the next building upgrade are unknown, a blue question mark will appear instead of the hammer.
For the "upgradeable" feature to work correctly you must first configure the script. (click the ikariam options button at the top)

The script has got the stamp of approval at .se where the latest person maintaing the script is BA.
I couldn't find any thread about it here so I thought that I would ask.
I would like to know if it may be allowed here aswell to get the legitimaty it needs to be included in the BC add-on .
An answer from a GA or GO would be greatly appreciated.

Probably the best thing to do is to make sure that the Ikariam Wiki is up to date and accurate and then the OP can update the details from there.

I've been using this script for a bit and I love it; I don't like to waste time hovering over each building to see it's level and then clicking it to see if I can build it or not! The hammer is the best feature in my opinion.

Some bugs/suggestions:
1. I've found that sometimes after I upgrade a building, the level # is 1 higher than it actually should be - that is, I just leveled a level 2 to level 3, but the label says it is number 4. This goes away soon after though and then it is always the correct level.
2. I love the graphics of Ikariam so I would like to see more of the pretty buildings - if you could figure out a system to have all the same features covering less things, that would be great! Something you could do is instead of a hammer you can change the color of the text to signal that it's ready for building...Also I don't think the title of the building is necessary or helpful, just the # and hammer will do. Or else just make the scroll smaller =P I would love to see a Town Enhancer Lite version!!

This is a bug that's been showing up recently in Ikariam itself, and has nothing to do with this script. I don't use the script yet, but I think I'll get it after I finish typing this, and I've seen the level error several times.

EDIT: Just installed the script, definitely going to help with some of my upgrades. One suggestion tho: buildings that have reached max level have a blue question mark icon indicating (I assume) the script does not know the required resources to perform the upgrade. Any chance of removing the icon or using a different one to show it's maxed?

@Pinku: about point 2; the hammer, building name and building level are all optional in the current version

if you do not want the building name to show, just disable it in the options (same page as the ikariam options)

@Shinobi: the resource requirement data is still incomplete (the new version will have a few more levels though)

the current version does not know what the hard-cap of any of the buildings are, the blue question mark will show if there is no data for the building (this does not mean its the hard-cap)

the new version, which is in the works (depending on how busy i am), will (depending on if i can get the information) tell you if its hard-cap or just unknown. along with some other things that were requested.

I love this script!

One flaw - Because it uses the options menu to set the highest level of research you get wrong results if you play in more than one world on a server.

Right now it's a minor problem, but if someone plays on 3 or 4 worlds I think this might become a hindrance.

Is there anyway the script could detect the research level for a given world and do away with the options settings?

the script does (or i thought it did) take different worlds into account, however it does not differentiate between servers.

so i you play on alpha.org and alpha.com, there will be a conflict and it will overwrite the value.

if i ever get around to finishing the updated/new version this will no longer be a problem.

as for detecting the research level, it is possible but it would be just has hard/simple as selecting it manually in the options page.

This will need to be updated with 0.3.2 data. Right now it doesn't work 100% of the time on the test server. In some towns the Town Wall does not display it's tag. Same with the Hideout. The Temple is not covered at all (obviously).

the script fails if you have a temple, all buildings up to the temple will be processed as usual (i hope the values are the same) but the temple, and all buildings after it will not work.

the buildings are layed out in a spiral pattern, starting from the town hall finishing with the town wall.

if i ever get around to properly updating this script this problem will be addressed.

I have noticed that the help file is tailored to your level of research. 0.3.2 requirements exactly match my 0.3.1 requirements on accounts with equivalent levels of research. I compared the town hall requirements and saw no difference.

Ny: Spirit Level complete = 135 wood for level 2 town hall
Alpha: Geometry complete = 148 wood for level 2 town hall
Test: Geometry complete = 148 wood for level 2 town hall

Alpha and Test accounts have the same values for all levels of town hall. Ny is always less since I have completed Spirit Level.

I do have one strange quirk in one of my towns on Ny. It always says that I can upgrade my Carpenter in my Capital even though I have nowhere near enough resources. 68 wood is not enough to upgrade from Carpenter level 30 to Carpenter level 31. It's 24,074 short of what is necessary. It did this for previous levels of the Carpenter in that town as well. My capital is the only one I have with a Carpenter in position 13 so it may have something to do with that.
