Town Planner

This script lets you re-plan the layout of your town(s) without having to demolish everything and start again.

How To Use Town Edit

Enable Edit Mode (Firefox Menu Bar->Tools->Greasemonkey->Userscript Commands->Town Planner:Edit Mode)
Click a building you want to move (it will turn semi-transparent)
Click the location you want it to be (this will swap the two buildings over, even if one is a building ground)
Repeat steps 2+3 as many times as you need
Disable Edit Mode (click the same menu item from step 1 again, or simply change to another game view)

How To Use Island Image Cycle

Goto Island View
Click Firefox Menu Bar->Tools->Greasemonkey->Userscript Commands->Town Planner:Cycle Island Image
Repeat step 2 as necessary

Notes

The Edit Mode menu item tells you what state it is in currently, clicking it will change it. (i.e. enabled, not enable)
The Edit mode menu item is only available in city view.
The new layout will only be applied to the town you created it in. If you want it in another town then you have to re-create it.
Layouts are also done per game world, they will not be applied to any other game worlds you may play on.
Some locations are fixed, and you cannot move them. these are: town wall, town hall.
Clicking either of the water locations will swap them. You do not need to click one then the other.
There are 5 island images to choose from in version 0.3.1 (i do not plan on adding pre 0.3.1 images)

I didnt understand how to use it
Main menu?
What main menu? + when i go to tools - greasemonkey - user script commands is grey and i cant open it

What to do? :huh:

Updated the Instruction: hopefully Firefox Menu Bar is easier to understand

Updated the Notes: the menu item is only available in city view (there is no reason for it to be in any other views)

I have just noticed a problem (not sure if its confined to the test server) but I have fixed it.
To install the updated version:

Uninstall
Clear Cache (Firefox Menu Bar->Tools->Clear Private Data and un-check all but Cache)
Reinstall

If this still does not help, a little more information would help

(Information like if your playing on .org (i would guess so?) and if your account is on a regular server, or the test server.)

i have the same proble Nadav I tryed uninstalling both the scrip and grease monkey but the user script command is always grey out why is this ???

You did not need to re-install greasemonkey, if you followed the instructions in my previous post (including clearing your cache) it is likely to be a different problem.

To check to see if you are re-installing the old version (from your cache, or some other cache) please goto the greasemonkey script manager (Firefox Menu Bar->Tools->Greasemonkey->Manage User Scripts..)
Select town planner in the selection box
In the "Included Pages" section there should be one line, which reads "http://s*.ikariam.*/*" if it reads "http://s*.ikariam.*/index.php?*" then you are installing it from a cache of some sort. you can either keep trying, or Edit the included page manually.

If this still does not work, more information would be helpful.
Restart firefox (close all windows, download windows, anything to do with firefox)
Clear the Error Log (Tools->Error Console, and the Clear button), press the Errors button and leave the console open until you complete the next steps
Login to ikairam, if city view is not loaded by default, go to it.
Check the error console, and copy any messages you have.

yup so tryed it again from my home computer and it work first try thx !!! !!!! I would only wish now I could do that with a full city to move it to a diffrent island !!! but that would be cheating !!! LOL

The swap is only cosmetic, anyways. It doesn't actually swap your buildings as the game sees them.

Moving buildings around in the town is purely a graphical change, it does not affect how the town functions.

if you wanted to move a building from one town to another (which could be done, although it would be pointless) it too would be a purely graphical change, you would see it there, but it would not exist, and your town would not benefit from it (or lose any benefit the building that should be there provides).

if this is not what you meant, please explain a little more.

It's because I have the "Workshop" on my Grape island and I would have liked to move it to my crystal island since that's where I gather crystal and store it. But it's no big deal, I just thought that is what the script did that's all.

I was willing to rebuild part of the town to do this.

And then i saw ur script. Love it man.

BTW u said it was graphical change. So u r just repositioning the buildings icons and moving the html link to them along with the icon.
So this means if i disable the script then the towns will be back to the way they looked b4 rite???
