Ikariam Chat Links

Since my alliance has an IRC chatroom, I thought it'd be useful to add some chat links to the pages so our members could easily chat with other members. That's why I created a userscript which adds a chat link in the top links (after 'board'):

as well as on the internal alliance page (in the embassy or on the Diplomacy page):

You can set the link it will go to yourself in the options, so you can set it to the link of your alliance:

It will grab your ingame nick from the page once you visit one of your towns and save it. To the link in the options, it will add &nick=yournick&alt=yournick_ so you could create your alliance chat page to automatically use your ingame nickname as the chat nick.

You asking just to ask or what, try clicking source code it's a small script skim through it. Doesn't seem to work looks like maybe the formatting change in 0.3.1 , dunno don't care it's late, but it is a cool idea.

@Xsinthis: Nope, it grabs the nickname from a page you visit. It used to grab it from the page you visited your town, but I just updated it so it grabs it from the options page if you visit it once. They seem to have removed your own nickname from the 'Show town' pages =/

@HARDC0R3J0N3S: It had to do with a small bug, and with the 0.3.1 changes. It used to have your nickname on all 'Show town' pages, but now it's not in there anymore... you'll have to visit the options page once for it to grab your nickname.. once you do it caches your nick and uses that in the chat link..

myap, i can read and i udnerstant what he do, but how can i make a room just for my alliance was my question... i am not an expert on mozzila so maybe he cna guide me...

Cannot save changes to the Chat URL

I am trying to change the Chat URL and the script does save the changes. I can easily edit the source and change the default setting for the "chaturl" variable but that is not the point.

It seems that it is failing at the point where it is supposed to save the new URL to the greasemonkey.scriptvals section:

	Source code
1	window.setTimeout(GM_setValue, 0, domain + "." + server + ".chaturl", newURL);

Any suggestions?

Also, since the script was approved with this feature, I assume linking any external chat is also approved, correct?

The problem appears to be with a recent change in the greasemonkey behavior:
